Voice commands still work for me.and these, along with Xbox fitness and the ir blaster in the Kinect are what really sold me on Kinect. Honestly don't think I'd enjoy the system as much without Kinect. And ya, Xbox fitness technically works without Kinect now but all the features that sold me on xb fitness wont work without Kinect.
mine kinect still works with my Virgin TV using the one guide. ( love it as hate the Virgin TV guide for it being so slow where xbox oneguide is so snappy) still controls everything fine. still able to select channels, turn tv on and off with xbox and control volume like you were able to when it came out.
But then I removed it from there and placed it on top of the tv stand with more air flow and now it works perfectly. This may seem like common sense, but I hope this works for you too so you can rejoin me in screaming "XBOX VOLUME DOWN" 15 times before it actually does it. TL;DR - Try moving your kinect into a spot with better airflow.
