A 380/220V motor is connected with its windings in "Star" (Wye) for 380V line supply, Delta for 220V (380 / 1.732 = 220). Their system essentially rates the motor based on the Delta configuration as well, but because you are changing the applied voltage, the power remains the same.
By looking inside the terminal box of a motor you can easily determine if the motor is wired in star or delta. The connections are located in the terminal box of the motor which is normally mounted on the body of the motor. The terminal box adds easy access to perform fault-finding exercises, electrical tests or when rewiring/repairing the motor.
Typically the Delta part of Star-Delta. Star-Delta uses two contactors , one to start at a lower voltage in Star and one to run at a higher voltage in Delta configuration. For example a 400V, 3-phase power supply Star applies phase to neutral or 230V.
